Books by Carrie Coplen, MS, LPC, NCC

Two books, written for two different moments. One for when you need the basics of feeling better. One for the five minutes at the end of the day with your family.

MENTAL HEALTH, SIMPLIFIED

Make a Wish and Then Do the Work

For years, my clients have asked what they could read between sessions. I wanted the same thing on a shelf at home for my own kids. Nothing I found was quite right, so I wrote it.

This is everything I actually use in session, in one place and in plain English. It covers emotions, the lies your brain tells you, stress and anxiety, self-compassion, relationships, and boundaries. It’s full of color, graphics, and pictures, and every chapter opens with the short version for the days you don’t have much left.

Blunt, warm, and short enough to finish.

For: anyone who is tired, stressed, or has been "fine" for way too long.

A NIGHTLY FAMILY RITUAL

Five Minutes Together

For ten years, my family of six has ended every day the same way. One quote read out loud, a word about tomorrow, an "I love you," and a hug. It takes five minutes and works at 6 in the morning or 10 at night.

There are 366 short quotes, one for every day of the year, each with a question to talk about if you want to. Miss a night? Nothing to catch up on. Just open to today’s date.

For: Busy families, blended families, grandparents, and kids from preschool through high school.
